Farm village on the river
Bosque Farms sits between Isleta and Los Lunas along NM-47, a village of small farms, pastures and horse properties lined with irrigation ditches. Driveways here are often long and flat, run beside ditches, and carry trailers and trucks as much as cars.
What works in Bosque Farms
- Asphalt near the house for a clean, firm parking area.
- Chip seal or millings on long lanes. See chip seal.
- Millings around barns and trailer parking.
- Crossings done right where drives cross ditches. See ditch crossings.
- Raised, crowned lanes so irrigation and rain drain off.
Damp ground
Near the ditches and bosque, ground can stay wet. We dig out soft soil, use a thicker base where needed and keep pavement off ditch banks. More on driveway paving in Bosque Farms.
