Why millings suit Meadow Lake
Lots on the east mesa are large and the drives are long. Paving every foot in hot-mix adds up fast. Recycled millings, properly placed and rolled, give you a dark, firm surface that doesn't blow away or rut the way sand and gravel do — for a fraction of the cost.
The difference between dumped and installed
Dumped
Spread loosely over sand. Ruts within months and acts like dark gravel.
Installed
Over a shaped, crowned base, watered and rolled tight. Stays firm for years.
How we do it
- Strip loose sand and weeds; shape a crown
- Compact the subgrade
- Spread millings to an even depth
- Water and roll until they lock together
- Firm up the end at the road and the edges
Want asphalt too?
A common combination is millings for the long drive and asphalt for the parking pad at the house. Later, the millings make a good base if you decide to pave the rest.
Common questions
How deep do you lay millings?
Typically a few compacted inches over a shaped base, more where trucks turn.
Will sand blow over it?
Some will drift on, but it sweeps or blows off a firm surface easily.
Do you work in El Cerro Mission too?
Yes — throughout Meadow Lake and El Cerro.
